The Peasant And The Snake

Once ago in farest ends A peasant and a snake were friends. He always put for her some milk into a bowl And as she left with thankful soul She spat a golden coin for him. And their frienship could last forever as it seemed, But the peasant got old and couldn't get to the field on his own, So he sent his son to work next to the pile of stones. The father told his son about his friendship with the snake And advised him how to please her for good sake. The son had no good in his heart; He hid a sword into his cart. He thought there was a treasure in the stone pile hidden, So in his mind he made a choice, which was forbidden; He took the sword, attacked too bold To kill the snake and steal the gold, But all his efforts were in vain, Because his greed made him insane; He cut her tail, she bit his foot, And soon he put on wooden suit. If you follow the advice of greed Often you may get not what you need.
